Evaluation for Dental Implants
If you are thinking of getting a dental implant, Dr. Curtis, Dr. Marchuk, or Dr. Olson can see you to help find out if it is right for you. At your initial appointment you will need to have x-rays taken of the area and an exam by the doctor. We will work with your dental insurance to find out an estimate of what dental implants will cost for you.
Dental Implant Procedure
Dental implants are metal screws that are placed into the jaw bone. After the initial placement, the implant is covered and will need three to six months to heal. After evaluation of healing, the dentist will decide that the area is stable and healthy enough to have a crown put on or to have your denture attached to the implant(s).
During the second phase of the procedure the dentist will uncover the protected implant and take an impression that will be sent to the lab for your crown to be made. The entire procedure takes six to nine months, but the result is a beautiful replacement that functions like your natural tooth.
