Mike Henderson, DDS

I was born and raised in Rochester, MN and attended school 10 miles east in the small town of Eyota. With Mayo Clinic in my backyard and inspired by my Mom who recently retired as a nurse educator, I always felt I was destined for a career in health care. I attended the University of North Dakota for my undergraduate studies and it was during that time (while on mission trip to Guatemala) where I discovered that dentistry blended my love for science, healthcare and art. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the University of Minnesota Dental School. I graduated in 2017 and decided to further my training at the University of Minnesota General Practice Residency where I honed my skills managing medically complex patients. Since completing my residency, I have worked both in private practice and community care settings.

During my final year of dental school I met my BEAUTIFUL wife Kirby in Nashville, TN while I was on a road trip. The random and fortunate series of events that brought us together would take an entire appointment to explain (so if you’re looking for a way to get out of that filling simply ask, “So how did you meet your wife?”). I like to stay busy biking, woodworking, traveling, and going up to the North Shore whenever I possibly can. My foundation in life is built on my relationships with family and friends and I am at my happiest whenever I am able to spend quality time with them.

Dentistry is a field that is constantly evolving which I love because it allows me to be a lifetime student. I am constantly striving to learn new ways to provide better care and achieve better outcomes for my patients. Patients place an immense level of trust in us as clinicians and that trust is not something I take lightly. While the technical skills of dentistry are incredibly important for achieving positive outcomes, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my kindness and compassion for all people. Every opportunity I have to interact with a patient is a privilege and I promise to always honor your trust and provide you with the highest quality of care.
